Jerusalem was never "intended" to be a multi-faith capitol

Today in Cairo, Egypt, President Obama said: "when the Holy Land of three great faiths is the place of peace that God intended it to be; when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed (peace be upon them) joined in prayer."

In no way does the bible support that there are three gods, but only One True God. For a self-avowed Christian to acknowledge other gods is blasphemy.

There are not "three great faiths", but only God's faith; nor are the faiths equal in any way.

Though the bible does declare we are to pray for peace of Jerusalem as Obama said, (Psalm 122:6) The bible in no way supports the notion that the city is multi-faith. Let's see what the bible says Jerusalem is "intended to be"...

God said: "but I have chosen Jerusalem that My name might be there, and I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.' 2 Chronicles 6:6 & 33:7; Ps 46:4; 48:1-8; 87:3).

God has blessed the city (Ps 132:13-14). Isra did not bless it. Mohammed did not bless it. It is God's name that is above Jerusalem.

Jerusalem was intended to be God's capitol in His land He gave to His people. However, God knew that others would come into His city: "and Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled." Luke 21:25

But for these transgressions, He promised "And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." Zech 12:9

Then, from Jerusalem, Jesus will reign over all the earth: ‘The Lord shall be King over all the earth’ Zechariah 14:9 and ‘out of Zion shall go forth the law and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem’. Isaiah 2:3.

Jerusalem is certainly being trampled by other feet of faiths, but it as not God's intention that this be so, and He will judge and then reclaim His land for His people. Those, like Obama who proclaim otherwise, are sorely mistaken.

God's Universal Reign
Isaiah 2:2-3
2Now it will come about that
In the last days
The mountain of the house of the LORD
Will be established as the chief of the mountains,
And will be raised above the hills;
And all the nations will stream to it.
3And many peoples will come and say,
"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
That He may teach us concerning His ways
And that we may walk in His paths."
For the law will go forth from Zion
And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
